Position Summary:
Reports to the Director/Manager of Transportation. Responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations, building driver schedules using Trip Master, and supporting safe, efficient participant transportation services.
Key Responsibilities to Include but not Limited to:
- Plan and coordinate all scheduling activities related to transportation for PACE Central Michigan participants.
- Supervises and supports the daily activities of the drivers as needed.
- Is efficient in building the daily schedules and responding to the daily needs of the drivers.
- Responsible for the coordination of all external transportation services.
- Documents every use of the external transportation services, the name of the transportation company, and the person(s) transporting the participants.
- Accesses company resources in ways that maximizes their availability and effectiveness.
- Assures all necessary documentation is updated and completed in a timely manner for daily routes, cancellations, etc.
- Assures all necessary program records are maintained according to policy.
- Alerts the Director and/or Manager of all incidents involving PACE drivers, vehicles, and/or participants related to the Transportation Department, as well as unusual occurrences reported by drivers.
- Assists in implementing necessary measures to prevent reoccurrences.
- Acts as a backup driver when circumstances arise that present a need.
- Follows all driver policies and protocols when providing driver coverage.
- Participants as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team when the Director or Manager is unable to do so.
- Attends staff meetings and takes part in participant care planning as needed.
- Communicates any change in participant condition to team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Chauffeur’s License required
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of transportation practices, safety standards, and regulations
