Mason Lodge No. 70 | 30-Year Mason
Kenneth D. Chandler, affectionately known as Ken or Kenny, devoted 30 years of service to Freemasonry and exemplified the values of brotherhood, leadership, and integrity throughout his life.
Born in Jonesville, Michigan, Ken was a graduate of Lansing Public Schools and Lansing Community College. He enjoyed a distinguished 38-year career with Consumers Power Company, including 22 years in management, before retiring in 1989.
Ken’s commitment to Masonry was both deep and far-reaching. He served as Worshipful Master of Mason Lodge No. 70 in 1986 and was honored as Mason of the Year in 1990. His dedication extended throughout numerous Masonic bodies and organizations, including the Shrine, Scottish Rite, York Rite, KYCH, and many other Masonic affiliations and honors.
Among his many accomplishments, Ken was elected Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons of the State of Michigan in 1995, a testament to the respect and admiration he earned from his fellow Masons across the state.
Beyond his Masonic service, Ken was a devoted family man. He married his beloved sweetheart, Vera, and together they built a loving family that includes two married daughters, Kris and Kenda, and three cherished grandchildren.
Masonry played an important role in Ken’s life and helped shape him into the man he became. His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all Masons who walked alongside him on that journey.
