A Life Built From the Ground Up
Herman Thomas Baldwin was a devoted husband, father, farmer, and Mason whose life reflected hard work, integrity, and dedication to family. Described by his loved ones as an honest, wonderful, and hardworking man, Herman exemplified the values of service and character throughout his life.
A proud Mason for many years, Herman was also deeply committed to his family. In 1938, he married Caroline Simon, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with six children, four daughters and two sons, who were the center of his life and legacy.
Farming was both Herman’s livelihood and passion. He took great pride in raising a large herd of Charolais cattle and caring for the horses on his farm. In addition to farming, he worked tiling fields throughout Osceola and Mecosta Counties, contributing to the agricultural success of his community. His strong work ethic remained evident throughout his life, as he continued working until the age of 78.
Herman passed away at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, hard work, and Masonic values. He is remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
