Brother Clyde Ward, a dedicated Mason of 28 years and member of Phoenix Lodge No. 13, will be remembered for his unwavering integrity, generous spirit, and devotion to family and community.
Born on January 3, 1941, in Van Lear, Kentucky, Clyde was raised in the close-knit Appalachian hills that instilled in him the values of resilience, hard work, hospitality, and honor. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and carried the discipline, commitment, and character of a Marine throughout his life.
Clyde found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether tending his garden, fishing, golfing, crafting his famous moonshine, or preparing Southern meals and barbecue for family and friends, he brought people together with warmth and good humor. Known for his gift of storytelling, welcoming smile, and friendly nature, Clyde had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like an old friend.
As a proud Mason, he deeply valued brotherhood, loyalty, generosity, and service to others. Above all else, Clyde cherished his family. He shared a loving and devoted 40-year marriage with his wife, Kathern, and was a proud father to his daughters, Teresa and Phyllis.
Brother Ward’s legacy of kindness, service, and fellowship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his Masonic brothers, family, and friends.
