Honoring Bro. Ronald England

The Kind of Man People Remember

Parma Lodge No. 183 | 57-Year Mason

Ronald Eugene England was a devoted husband, father, and son who was deeply respected by all who knew him. His kindness, integrity, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances throughout his life.

Ron worked for a CPA firm, which required him to travel frequently. Everywhere he went, he built meaningful relationships through his honesty, professionalism, and genuine character. The respect others had for him was evident, as some clients remained in touch for years, including one who faithfully sent him birthday cards.

Ron and I shared 56 wonderful years together, filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. Family was always at the center of his life.

Freemasonry was also an important part of Ron’s heritage. His father, Hubert B. England, was a Mason, and his mother was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. His sister, Virginia Burroughs, is also a member of the Eastern Star, continuing the family’s proud tradition of service and fellowship.

The photograph shown is Ron’s high school graduation portrait from 1955, capturing the young man who would go on to touch so many lives.

One of my favorite memories is a family trip to Mackinac Island when our daughters were young. We rented two tandem bicycles and rode around the island. Ron rode with our daughter Michelle, while I rode with Margo. As we passed in front of the Grand Hotel, Ron had his feet up while Michelle was doing all the pedaling. It was such a funny sight and remains a cherished memory that still brings a smile to my face.

Ron will always be remembered for his loving heart, his gentle sense of humor, and the respect and admiration he earned from everyone fortunate enough to know him.
