Celebrating 30 Years of Masonic Service
Gerald A. “Jerry” Orsborn was initiated into Wacousta Masonic Lodge No. 359 on June 6, 1983, with his father, Jim Orsborn, and father-in-law, Herman Openlander, proudly in attendance. Raised in a deeply fraternal family, Jerry’s commitment to Masonry was inspired early in life through his parents’ involvement in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Throughout his Masonic journey, Jerry exemplified the principles of the Craft. He served as Worshipful Master of Wacousta Lodge on several occasions and was honored to be elected as a Representative to the Board of General Purposes. In recognition of his dedicated service and leadership, he received the Distinguished Service Award on October 20, 2011.
Jerry truly lived the values of Masonry in all that he did. He faithfully served for many years as Chairman of the Wacousta Fish Fry and brought joy to countless community members while participating as the beloved “Big Duck” in the annual duck race fundraiser. His enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to service left a lasting impact on both his Lodge and community.
Beyond Masonry, Jerry was an active member of Wacousta Community United Methodist Church, where his ashes were laid to rest on December 22, 2014.
Jerry’s legacy of fellowship, service, and devotion continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
