A Proud Tradition Carried Forward
In honor of the Masons’ 200th Anniversary, I would like to share a few memories of my late husband, John Riker, a proud member of Lapeer Lodge No. 54.
John followed in the footsteps of his father, George Riker, by joining the Masonic fraternity. Being a Mason was something he cherished deeply, and he was always incredibly proud to be part of such a respected and meaningful fellowship.
I had the opportunity to accompany him to several open meetings over the years, and I was always impressed by the strong sense of brotherhood, camaraderie, and mutual support among the members. The values of friendship, service, and integrity that the Masons uphold meant a great deal to John throughout his life.
John passed away in 2023 and is missed every day. While he is no longer with us, the memories of his dedication, kindness, and pride in being a Mason continue to live on.
Congratulations on this remarkable 200-year milestone, and happy anniversary to all who are part of this enduring and honorable tradition.
