A Father’s Legacy, A Son’s Example
R.A. “Mike” McPhee served as Grand Master of Michigan in 1971. His son, Dennis McPhee, was my husband and served as Master of Greenville Lodge.
Mike was a devoted Mason whose dedication to the Craft was evident in everything he did. He spent countless hours studying and practicing his ritual work, earning the respect of his fellow Masons and eventually serving as Grand Master. Beyond Masonry, he was a hardworking man who worked for Civil Air Patrol, the C&C Camp, and as a flight instructor.
When I married into the McPhee family, Mike and his wife, Lucille, welcomed me with open arms. They became not only wonderful in-laws but also loving mentors whose kindness and example shaped my life. I was truly blessed to be part of their family.
Mike was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a man of unwavering dedication. Mike and Lucille adored their grandsons, creating countless happy memories filled with laughter, love, and, of course, a little grandparent spoiling.
My husband, Dennis, passed away in 2020 after 49 years of marriage. Like his father, he was a loving husband, devoted father, and a wonderful provider for our family. The values of love, faith, hard work, and family were passed from one generation to the next.
Today, our family treasures the many wonderful memories we’ve shared together. We often reminisce about the special moments that brought us joy, and I thank God for the blessing of this remarkable family and the legacy they leave behind.
