A Legacy of Service, Devotion, and Brotherhood
Born in 1922 in Tower City, Pennsylvania, Bob answered the call of duty early in life. He served bravely in World War II, where he endured the unimaginable hardship of being held as a Prisoner of War. His resilience and courage remained a defining part of his character long after returning home.
A proud member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Bob went on to build a long career as a Millwright for General Motors. In 1969, he married Donna Hinderleider, beginning a partnership grounded in love, community, and service.
Brother Minnich’s Masonic journey was equally distinguished. A dedicated member of Alma Lodge No. 244, he served as Worshipful Master in 1987. He was also a 32° Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Bay City Consistory, and an active Shriner with the Saginaw Khurafeh Temple.
His service extended far beyond ritual and fellowship. Bob spent countless hours driving children from Gratiot County to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago, ensuring they received the care they needed—an act of compassion that touched families across our region.
His commitment to community was equally broad. Bob was a member of:
- Alma Chapter No. 43, Order of the Eastern Star
- Saginaw Moose Lodge No. 802
- Alma Elks Lodge No. 144
- Alma Boy Scouts
Brother Minnich passed in 1994, leaving behind a legacy of service to his country, his Lodge, and his community. His life reminds us that the strength of our fraternity is built not only on ritual, but on the everyday actions of Brothers who choose to serve with humility and heart.
