Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Performs a variety of accounting duties, including payment processing, accounts payable and receivable processing, and budget forecasting and development as assigned.
- Log, track and enter expenditures, receipts, payables and receivables according to schedules.
- Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Devises and implements systems for general accounting.
- Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation.
- Collects appropriate data and assists in the preparation of federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- One to three years of accounting experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Experience in payables and receivables.
- Strong experience in GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
