We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Life Enrichment and Volunteer Services to lead our team in providing exceptional care and support to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of memory care, dementia care, and the unique challenges faced by aging individuals. This role requires strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach to caregiving, and the ability to effectively manage schedules and events within our facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Oversight of the completion of the activity’s component of the comprehensive assessment; to include care plan goals that are individualized to match the skills, abilities, and interests/preferences of each resident in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
- Leading the activity program to include scheduling of activities, both individual and groups, implementing and/or delegating the implementation of recreational, educational, cultural and arts and crafts programs, monitoring the response, reviewing and evaluating the response to the programs to determine if the activities meet the assessed needs of the resident, and making revisions as necessary.
- Responsible for the assurance of resident safety during activities
- Responsible for overseeing the Resident Council and responsible for meeting minutes and follow-up on concerns expressed during the Council meetings

- Employee will have basic knowledge of all levels of the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and the ability to discuss those levels with our customers and refer them to the appropriate marketing / admissions personnel.
- Employees will round regularly within their departments and report to Leadership and or complete the necessary paperwork regarding maintenance and environmental concerns.
- Maintain a professional demeaner and attitude while providing excellent customer service.
- Willingness to assist others within The Home for the success of the Michigan Masonic organization.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a health care related field is required.
- A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required.
- A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), which requires a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university, a formal internship, and the passing of a national certification examination. A CTRS must maintain their credential every five years through the NCTRC recertification process.
- A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) must be licensed or registered, by the state of Michigan and is:
- Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990; or
- Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or
- Is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or
- Has completed a training course approved by the State
- A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience required.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in the health care and or senior care services industry required
