Eligibility Manager

Position Summary:

The Eligibility Manager supports the admissions, eligibility, and resident enrollment functions of the Home.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist prospective residents and families throughout the residency application for eligibility of Medicaid or Masonic Assistance
  • Collaborate with the Admissions and Eligibility Team to facilitate a seamless transition for new admissions
  • Communicate admission requirements, financial obligations, and payer information to residents and responsible parties 
  • Maintain accurate and organized resident financial and admission records
  • Assist with census reconciliation and reporting
  • Serve as a resource for residents, families, and staff regarding insurance coverage and admission-related financial matters
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate eligibility personnel and other assigned staff

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Services, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, healthcare admissions, Medicaid eligibility, patient financial services, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Michigan Medicaid regulations and Medicaid application processes.

Strong understanding of long-term care admission processes and regulatory requirements
