Michigan Masonic Home is looking for a Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist who will perform the daily and monthly tasks necessary to ensure the accurate and complete processing of all resident charges, payments and overseeing the functions of the revenue cycle processes.
Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists with the coordination of the Masonic Assistance & Insurance Programs to include, but not limited to, Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial Insurance Products.
- Coordinates the application process regarding insurance and billing needs.
- Assists with the preparation and submission of medical insurance claims.
- Enters required information into the electronic medical record related to billing.
- Collaborate with residents or customers, third party institutions, and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
- Assists with the creation of invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a resident.
- Inputs payment history, upcoming payment information, or other financial data into an individual account and or organization financial systems.
- Assists with finding financial solutions for residents who may need payment assistance.
Education and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required in business, finance, accounting, or health care related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- At least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in billing and or accounts receivable.
- Experience in Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures and regulations.
- Understanding of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Experience and knowledge with billing software and electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and privacy laws.
