Duties and Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:
- Responsible for the overall nursing care delivery system including quality of care, fiscal accountability, staff performance (in accordance with nursing standards of practice), federal, state and local regulations as well as Masonic Pathways policies and procedures
- Responsible for the ongoing compliance with risk management. Also, performs related duties as required to meet the Mission, Vision, and Values of Masonic Pathways.
- Responsible and accountable for maintaining the 24-hour coordination of the nursing and ancillary department services to ensure continuity of total resident care requirements.
- Responsible for oversight of the Scheduling Coordinators and the staffing schedule to include operationally determining the appropriate implementation of the staffing program
- Responsible for ongoing development and mentoring of staff as related to leadership skills, conflict resolution, problem identification, and resolution of issues
- Responsible for the facility’s wound care program, including documentation.
- Responsible for oversight of the Infection Prevention program, including being Infection Preventionist Certified.
- Assists SDON with interviewing potential employees for nursing positions.
- Responsible for evaluating and completing nursing 90-day and annual evaluations
- Maintains a survey ready environment within the nursing care delivery system.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- A graduate of a nursing education program.
- A valid State of Michigan nursing license.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or willing to obtain within three (3) years of hire.
- Current CPR certificate or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Holds or obtains Infection Preventionist Certification.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a nurse.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role within a long-term care program specializing in the care of the older adult.
